History of Joe's Diner
Joan and Joe opened Joe's Diner after a Spring Break camping trip to the California coast with fifty neighbors. We have been serving scratch cooking, with local ingredients in the valley for over four years thanks to lots of loyal customers.
Joe's Diner is known for its omelettes, biscuits with chorizo gravy, as well as our buttermilk pancakes made with local flour, butter, eggs and the best buttermilk we can find. Joan and Joe moved the Diner to 7th Avenue in the Melrose District after outgrowing the original location in an old converted Hot Rod Shop on 16th Street.
Joe and the kitchen staff roast their own beef and pork and make all sauces, gravies, jams, and apple butter from scratch using fresh local ingredients whenever possible. Joe Bob's apple pie, carrot cake, croissants, buttermilk biscuits and cinnamon rolls are all baked in house.
